As we step into 2025, it’s the perfect time to look back at 2024—a year marked by a continued enthusiasm for vintage and classic tractors. The market remained robust, with prices trending upwards for some of the most iconic machines. From the ever-popular Massey Ferguson 35 to the sought-after 35X and 100 series, collectors and enthusiasts have shown unwavering confidence, whether adding to their collections or finding a vintage tractor to put to work.

The Appeal of Originality

One clear trend has been the enduring demand for originality. Very original examples of vintage tractors continue to capture hearts and command premium attention. It’s a testament to the charm of history and the craftsmanship of these machines that remain as captivating now as they were decades ago.

A Year of Memorable Machines

2024 brought its share of highlights. One standout that stayed with us is the Chamberlain Champion 306, possibly the only example in the UK. This rare beauty is a story in itself, and we’re planning a dedicated blog post to explore its unique history in the coming months.

We also had the pleasure of working with some remarkable John Deere tractors. As a lifelong fan of the two-cylinder Deeres, the John Deere MI we brought back in the spring was a personal highlight. This quirky yet captivating tractor turned many heads and reminded us why these machines hold such a special place in agricultural history.

Community Spirit and Events

Beyond the tractors themselves, 2024 was a year of connection and community. Taking our steam engine to rallies was an unforgettable experience, meeting fellow enthusiasts, sharing stories, and introducing many to the joys of vintage machinery. We also hosted several steam engine driving days in aid of St. Luke’s Hospice, blending fun and purpose in equal measure.

Our annual working weekend didn’t quite go to plan thanks to the weather, but we still managed to host a successful road run, raising funds for the Devon Air Ambulance, and put on a steam threshing demonstration that brought a bit of magic to the soggy conditions.

Looking Ahead to 2025

As we gear up for another exciting year, we’re looking forward to introducing you to many more special tractors and machines. The passion for vintage and classic machinery continues to grow, and we can’t wait to see what treasures 2025 will bring.

Here’s to a new year filled with history, horsepower, and the joy of preserving these incredible pieces of our agricultural heritage. Keep an eye out for updates, and stay tuned for more on the Chamberlain Champion 306 and other fascinating finds!

Happy New Year, and see you down the road (or field) in 2025!
