County 4004
Tamar Vintage Tractors - County 4004
*Now Sold*
What makes this tractor unique is that unlike the larger, equal-wheeled Counties, the 4004 was a small tractor that the manufacturer converted to a 4-wheel drive.
Produced using the base unit of a Ford 4000, the 4004 upgrade could be requested with the 8-stud, heavy-duty rear axle. County then added a drop box to the transmission to take the prop shaft to the front axle.
These little tractors are incredibly versatile and grip extremely well!
This County runs and drives very nicely. It is well-mannered on the road and has a good turn-of-speed.
The brakes, hydraulics and PTO are all functioning correctly and the 4-WD engages as it should.
This example was restored around 10 years ago. The tinwork remains in excellent shape with a very good finish to the paintwork. The engine was also rebuilt at this time and has since done around 120 hours of work.
In the last couple of years, it has resided in a private collection and has been enjoyed at local rallies and road runs. It has a current V5 document.
This tractor came to us with a complete Duncan cab with newly made doors, a good roof and most of the glass. It will be included in this sale so that it can be painted and fitted if desired.
