Fordson Dexta
Tamar Vintage Tractors - Dexta
NOW SOLD
This is a very nice, standard diesel Fordson Dexta.
These 3-cylinder diesel tractors produce around 32 Hp and came to the market in 1957 as Fords’ attempt to keep up with the competition from other manufacturers such as Massey Ferguson.
The engines in the Dexta are of Perkins design, however many of the parts were cast under license by Ford; subsequently, many of the parts are interchangeable with the MF35 engine.
This tractor has been subjected to an earlier restoration and is nicely presented. It’s a very good starter and runs and pulls very well in all gears.
The engine block is free from any frost damage, which can be a common setback on Dexta’s.
The tyres are good all around and the tin work is nice and tidy, unfortunately, there is a dent to the side of the nose cone which has been touched in at some point.
The brakes, PTO and hydraulics are functioning correctly and we have just fitted a new battery.
In all a nice little Dexta ready for work or play!
