Fordson Dexta
Tamar Vintage Tractors - Fordson Dexta
*Now Sold*
Here we have a Standard Live Drive Fordson Dexta
These 3-cylinder diesel tractors produce around 32 Hp and came to the market in 1957 as Ford’s attempt to keep up with the competition from other manufacturers such as Massey Ferguson.
The engines in the Dexta are of Perkins design, however many of the parts were cast under license by Ford; subsequently, many of the parts are interchangeable with the MF35 engine.
The tyres are average all around and the tin work is reasonably stright and tidy
The brakes, PTO and hydraulics are functioning as they should
The engine starts well from cold, as with all dexta's they do need some heat, but it is an easy starter and runs well.
On the road it drives well with no excessive play in the steering.
There is no v5 for this tractor, but it could be easily resgistered through a club
It would make an ideal small holders tractor!
