The Ford 4600 was produced between 1975 – 1981. They proved themselves to be an excellent mid-range tractor of 52HP at the PTO - benefiting from Independent PTO, Wet Disc Brakes and an 8-speed Gearbox.
 
This early Ford 4600 is fitted with the Ford Safety Cab, as was fitted to the last of the Ford 4000’s. It has just undergone a full engine rebuild and fitment of a new clutch.
 
The tractor is a good starter and runs and drives very well. The hydraulics are all working correctly and so is the PTO.
 
The tinwork is generally good throughout, with just a small patch of rust toward the rear of one rear wing. The cab is tidy – all the glass is present and the doors are straight. 
 
The tyres are good all-round and will do many more years of service.
 
This tractor drives very well on the road and pulls well in all gears.
 
The Ford 4600 was considered a large tractor in its day, and would make a very useful addition to a smallholding.
