This is a well presented and very interesting example of a 1959 Fordson Power Major.
 
This tractor starts very easily and runs well, with good steering and responsive brakes.
The tin work is good throughout and it has also been fitted with a roll bar.
The hydraulics all work correctly, as does the PTO.
 
There are a few features on this tractor that differ to the standard model and after some research it would appear the engine has been replaced in the past. The casting codes on the gearbox and hydraulics all date to 1959. The front wheels are correct ‘Power Major’ wheels, but the rears feature the earlier centres and the bonnet badges are from an earlier model. The dash and fuel tank appear to be correct for its age.
 
This represents an affordable, functional tractor that would go straight to work. Or if preferred, the correct parts could be sourced to make this tractor ‘true to age’.
