Hart Parr 16-30
Tamar Vintage Tractors - Hart Parr 16-30
In 1901, Charles Hart and Charles Parr founded the Hart-Parr Company, based first in Madison, WI, before relocating to Charles City, IA. These two visionaries are often credited with coining the word tractor and are considered pioneers in the tractor industry. One of the most iconic models they produced is the Hart-Parr 16-30, which just celebrated its 100th anniversary. Production began in 1924 and this particular model dates back to 1925.
This tractor is powered by a two-cylinder engine, which is started on petrol before moving over to kerosene. This tractor is equipped with a two-speed gearbox, a hand-operated clutch, along with a reverse gear, providing the operator with essential control.
The model name “16-30” refers to its horsepower rating: 16 horsepower at the drawbar and 30 horsepower at the pulley. The tractor is also equipped with a magneto for ignition and a crank handle for starting the engine. It is a very easy started once the technique is perfected!
This is a very special opportunity to own an iconic piece of agricultural history which would certainly stand out at rallies and events.
