Hart-Parr 18-36
Tamar Vintage Tractors - Hart-Parr 18-36
Here we have an interesting veteran tractor in largely original condition—an impressive feat, considering it’s nearly 100 years old! The Hart-Parr 18-36 was manufactured in Charles City, Iowa, USA, from 1926 to 1930. The 18-36 G model was produced in 1926-1927, the 18-36 H in 1927-1928, and the 18-36 I from 1928 to 1930.
This tractors serial plate identifies it as a 1927 H-series. Visually, the model H was very similar to its predecessor but featured an oval fuel tank, which could hold an extra 12 gallons of fuel to power the larger engine. The fenders extended down to the platform floorboards, and the platform itself was slightly enlarged. The most significant upgrade was the introduction of a three-speed forward transmission, providing greater efficiency.
The 18-36 name comes from its horsepower ratings: 18 horsepower at the drawbar and 36 horsepower at the belt drive, all powered by an 8.2-liter, two-cylinder engine with three gears.
This tractor has had some work done by its most recent owner, including a new radiator, a reconditioned magneto, and a new kingpin on the front axle. It runs and drives well and is being sold as an ongoing project.
