Farmall F-14
Tamar Vintage Tractors - Farmall F-14
Here we have a rare and charming Farmall F-14, introduced in 1938 as a more powerful successor to the F-12. The F-14 was designed to pull a two-furrow plough and featured adjustable rear wheel spacing and high clearance, making it ideal for a variety of field crops.
With over 27,000 units built between 1938 and 1939, this particular tractor is likely one of the later builds based on its serial number.
What sets this tractor apart is its wide front axle, a unique feature as most F-14s were equipped with a row-crop front axle, where the wheels are placed together in a tricycle configuration. This wide front axle gives the tractor a distinctive appearance.
The F-14 was designed for inter-row crops, with steering brakes that engage when you turn sharply, braking one wheel to help make tighter turns—a practical feature for its time. The tractor still retains its period hydraulic lift.
Powered by a 4-cylinder petrol/tvo engine, it starts well with the handle and runs extremely smoothly. The tractor has been fitted with rubber tyres, all of which are in excellent condition and offer a smoother ride over its original steel wheels.
This Farmall F-14 is a rare example of early 20th-century agricultural engineering when functionality took priority over styling, this would be a real head-turner at rallies and events!
