We are pleased to offer this rare Massey Ferguson 188 for sale on behalf of a customer.
 
This model was considered the 'big red' of its time and served as the foundation for the later Massey Ferguson 590 tractor.
 
This particular 188 was built in France and is equipped with an 8-speed gearbox, power steering, a trailer brake valve, and two double-acting spool valves. It is also a later model featuring the 'square rear axle,' which comes with the updated 'wet' disc brakes.
 
One of the standout features of this tractor are the Power Adjustable rear wheels, allowing the driver to easily adjust the rear wheel track width. By pulling out a pin on the rims and driving forward, the track width can be modified. Additionally, the front wheels are weighted for added stability.
 
This tractor has spent many years in Cornwall and is in excellent original condition, with the tin work looking great. It starts up well and drives excellently.
