Massey Ferguson 240
Tamar Vintage Tractors - Massey Ferguson 240
Here we have a really nice example of the Massey Ferguson 240.
The 240 was the next model to be built after the humble and very popular 135, the 240 features the Perkins 3-cylinder diesel engine, producing 46HP.
One of the many advantages of the 240 is the extension that was fitted to the transmission, making it about 4 inches longer in the wheelbase. I find this gives much more space between the seat and steering wheel, making for a very pleasant driving position!
It is fitted with a 6-speed gearbox and has a reasonable turn of speed.
This Particular 240 was first registered in 1981 and has been recently owned by an ex-Massey Ferguson technician and has only covered 2358 hours.
The cab is exceptional and is nicely clad with sound-deadening material on the inner wings and is fully glazed throughout.
It also benefits from a working heater, making it a very pleasant space to be!
All the important parts are functioning, the brakes are excellent and the dual-clutch and pto all functioning as they should.
On the rear is an oversized set of 14.9/28 tyres giving a good stance on the road.
In all a fantastic tractor for work or play, comes complete with a current V5 document.
